This project relates to the development of an automated soccer field-lining machine. The Autoliner is able to autonomously paint the lines of two soccer fields in a row. Human intervention is only required at the start-up and end of the cycle, resulting in a significant cost reduction. Based on triangular geometry principles, the Autoliner is equipped with active RFID positioning technology. Three set points are sufficient to calculate its current position, while a fourth is used to verify its whereabouts. Meanwhile, a rotatable painting arm provides the Autoliner with great versatility. Every line on the field is painted in a single continuous motion, as such ensuring the quality of the end result. In only four steps, the machine can be set up and put into action.
