Backend Developer for Distributed Applications
at T-Mining in the heart of Antwerpen

Based in Antwerp, T-Mining makes maritime logistics processes like Secure Container Release more secure and efficient. Every day, more than 1.000 companies in over 20 different countries use our solution and infrastructure. By using decentralized technologies such as blockchain and implementing concepts like Self Sovereign Identity (SSI) and Commercial Privacy, we provide the industry with easy-to-use instruments to remain in control of their data.

We are looking for an enthusiastic developer to join our team.  The candidate will be working on the backend services of our product, which serves to develop decentralized applications for sharing state between distinct organizations. 

This product is built using a service oriented architecture with a distributed peer-to-peer storage mechanism combined with cryptographic functionality.  On top of this we develop specific applications, mainly for the transport and logistics market. 

One example is our Secure Container Release product which is in production and being used by major logistics companies in different countries. This product creates digital pickup rights for containers, which can be transferred from one company to another, and which enables container terminals in a port to verify in a secure way who is authorized to pickup certain containers.

• You analyze requirements
• You actively participate in the technical design process
• You develop and integrate software components
• You are responsible for the quality of these components by developing automated tests

Profile:

• You arYou are a software engineer with a Master in IT or computer science or equivalent by experience
• You speak Dutch (is a plus) and / or English 
• You are interested in distributed computing, cryptography, and blockchain 
• You are eager to learn and try out new technologies
• You are a problem solver and have good knowledge of design patterns and algorithms
• You know at least two of the following technologies:
  • Node.js, Javascript / ES6
  • Testing frameworks, e.g. Mocha
  • CI/CD tools e.g. CircleCi
  • IPFS
  • Solidity 
  • Databases 
  • Docker
