POLITICO is looking for a UI/UX Designer, responsible for conceptualizing and developing the UI/UX of our next generation of digital solutions.
The position is envisaged to begin in early 2023 located in Brussels.

Role & Responsibilities
The UX Designer will take the lead on the design, development, and usability of user interfaces for a suite of POLITICO’s new services across desktop, mobile and app.
They will provide leadership for all UI design, ensuring that what we build meets user needs and provides a best-in-class experience and will develop innovative and effective solutions for customer needs identified within the business.
This role will require collaboration with product management, engineers, editorial and client teams to create the new look for our next generation of products. It requires strong design experience with responsive user interfaces running on a broad array of devices, from large screen displays to small mobile screens.
Responsibilities include…
Partner with development, user research and product management, editorial and client teams to create the new look for our next generation of products
Engage with other UX team members and developers to create design patterns that deliver the optimal consistent UI
Contribute to usability studies, remote testing and customer discovery work
Develop sitemaps, wireframes, storyboards, and prototypes and libraries
Establish and follow best practices in creating UI components
Act as a liaison with specified user areas
Identify client software applications and hardware requirements
Assist the development team in performing usability tests and related tasks required to maintain sprint velocity
The Ideal Candidate Will...
Work within an agile development framework and with multiple stakeholders, while maintaining focus on user needs
Work with internal and external customers to develop overarching frameworks to meet required business specifications
Qualifications
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Fluent in HTML5, CSS3and cross-platform browser issues
Familiarity with responsive design strategy and implementation
Experience with an enterprise level application development
Hands-on experience working within an agile framework
Up to date with design trends, best practices, and new capabilities, and passion to use this knowledge to push our designs forward
Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities:
5+ years of UX development and IA experience
Skill in prioritizing and triaging obligations
Ability to achieve results while working independently
An eye for design detail
Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Illustrator, Photoshop, Axure
BA or BS in design (Graphic, Interaction, Visual), Electronic Media, Computer Science, Human Factors, or related field
At least 5 years of experience as a UI developer, UX designer, or similar role
Experience with CSS, responsive web design and usability
Strong data analysis and data visualization skills
Strong experience of conceptual user experience design
