At Conversation Starter our mission is to accelerate progress by connecting people. We strive to accomplish our mission by enabling organisations such as the European Space Agency, Google, EY and VOKA to host online networking events for people such as entrepreneurs, researchers, managers and pretty much any kind of go-getter.
People love using Conversation Starter and sales are growing exponentially. However, we won't stop until the whole world has heard about us. That's why we need a head of marketing!
As head of marketing, you will define and execute our marketing strategy. Your goal is to make potential customers fall in love with Conversation Starter. Yes, that sounds cheesy - but let us explain. You will for example host free online networking events so people can experience how Conversation Starter works (fall in love!) and get inspired to host their own. Continually organising these events requires deep creativity and marketing skills: every potential customer (they are diverse!) should at one point participate.
Additionally, you will:
Use online marketing to keep Conversation Starter top-of-mind
Provide the sales team with content to support outbound campaigns
Hunt for PR opportunities to make Conversation Starter appear in blogs, podcasts, etc.
Co-create the event marketing strategy of some of our customers
Organising online networking events
Concept creation: for who can we organise what kind of event?
Defining and executing marketing strategies to get people to participate
Reaching out to thought leaders and getting them to participate
Reaching out to and negotiating with partners
Project management: keeping track of partnerships, marketing initiatives, participants, etc.
Online marketing to keep Conversation Starter top-of-mind
Coming up with social media content ideas and executing them (bonus: creating the visuals)
Gathering content for and writing the monthly event discovery newsletter
Social media advertising (together with a consultant)
Retargetting advertising (together with a consultant)
Content creation for the sales team
Interviewing customers and users, discovering great stories!
Writing case studies and website content
Marketing of customer events
Creating documents and videos about event marketing best practices
Assisting high-profile customers with their marketing strategy
A people person: this role requires a lot of empathy and talking
Creative: you can start with a goal in mind and figure out 10 different ways to accomplish it
3+ years of experience in defining and executing marketing strategy (bonus: in software and/or B2B context)
Able to recognise good design
Passionate about our mission and product
Fluent in Dutch and English (bonus: French or German)
Self-motivated, confident to make decisions and happy to work on your own initiative
