We are looking for an experienced Account Director who will help us set up the Benelux team and who will be the main point of contact for our client, a leading global brand within the FMCG sector.

This role will be key in managing and growing client relationships, ensuring the successful delivery of shopper and retail campaigns to enhance brand visibility and consumer engagement.

The ideal candidate will have a creative/advertising agency background and will be well versed in the realm of print and POS (point of sale)/retail campaigns.

Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management and Growth:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, translating the client briefs into an executional plan and ensuring their needs are met and expectations are exceeded.
  • Collaborate with clients to identify opportunities for creative solutions that align with their goals and objectives.
  • Understand clients’ business goals and challenges to provide strategic insights and solutions.
  • Develop and implement strategic account plans to drive business growth and achieve revenue targets.
  • Prepare and present proposals, campaign plans, and performance reports.
  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities with existing clients to drive revenue growth.

Campaign Development and Execution:

  • Lead the development of shopper/POS and print campaigns from concept to execution, ensuring they are delivered on time, on brief, within scope, compliant with local requirements and to the highest quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams, including creative, production, and strategy, to ensure seamless project execution and meet client objectives.
  • Monitor campaign performance and optimize as necessary to meet KPIs and ROI targets.
  • Prioritising various projects for multiple brands in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment

Financial and Resource Management:

  • Oversee project budgets, forecast and ensure financial targets are met and resources are allocated efficiently.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to provide accurate forecasts and financial reporting.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead and mentor and guide junior account managers/executives
  • Provide guidance and support in project management, client servicing, and professional development.
  • Foster a collaborative and creative working environment.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and identify training needs to enhance team capabilities.

Campaign Analysis and Optimization:

  • Monitor and analyze campaign performance, providing insights and recommendations for optimization.
  • Identify areas for improvement and optimization, implementing changes to enhance campaign performance.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in an Account Director or Senior Account Management role within a creative agency focusing on shopper/POS and retail campaigns.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and executing multi-channel campaigns.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in team management and development.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and emerging technologies.
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated success in client retention and revenue growth.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and derive actionable insights.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (ideal).

Languages:

  • Flemish (mandatory)
  • English (mandatory)
  • Belgium French (recommended)
  • Any other languages are a plus.
