Position summary

The Content Manager is to develop and leverage the editorial calendar based on the Village Activation Calendar, working alongside the communications team in the daily management of all Marketing activities, initiatives and integrated content creation & developments, as well as the strategic implementation of the content in the relevant channels (on/off, integrated and in all guest journey’s touch points), ensuring that The Bicester Village tone of voice, USP and values are always represented.

Key responsibilities

Ensure the development of innovative content for all channels to maximise sales and traffic in the Village through:

  • Leverage and enhance the fashion and lifestyle credentials of the Village applying relevant storytelling and editorial contents
  • Working closely with other departments such as the Retail, Hospitality and Leasing teams to develop and execute innovative relevant content
  • Guaranteeing the consistency of all marketing and communications activities to ensure correct relevancy and representation for each target audience and nationalities.

Directly supporting the Communications Manager and the Marketing Director by:

  • Defining and co-ordinating the local and national Marketing and Communications content strategy
  • Working closely with the Guest Knowledge Manager, provide Management with regular analysis of the market trends and evolution of consumer behaviour and content’s relevancy
  • Create relevant and consistent messaging per target audience
  • Define a Marketing and Communications content plan, as well as setting the storytelling, according to the analysis and strategy already established
  • Defining Marketing and Communications content objectives and KPI’s and evaluating necessary financial means to achieve them
  • Supervising all content making sure there is content consistency and storytelling:
    • Press, Advertising, and Public Relations
    • Direct Marketing/Database Marketing
    • Brand Direct Marketing
    • Tourism Marketing and B2B contents
    • Special Events
    • Corporate and Target Group Marketing
    • Cross Marketing
    • Online Marketing

Background and skills

  • To be educated to degree level in Marketing, Journalism, or Business studies qualification.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, e.g. agency environment, or publishing world - ideally with experience of retail-marketing and brand building, fashion & lifestyle, destination marketing and digital savvy/expert
  • Experience in advertising, editors role, press, PR, and media
  • In-depth knowledge of and affinity for luxury, fashion and lifestyle products/positioning
  • Solid understanding of fashion and lifestyle, and retail marketing (contents and storytelling)
  • Extensive experience in a marketing management position
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills at all levels
  • Excellent attention to details and sense of aesthetic
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Very well organised and structured, yet creative
  • Creative skills and good understanding of design and trends
  • Good budget management skills
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services
  • Fluent in Dutch and English French is a plus
  • Excellent strategic, organizational and advocacy skills
  • Ability to work individually and proactively as part of a global team
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize large volumes of work
